Why Are Jharkhand Students Protesting?
The protest has been organised by the JPSC-JSSC Reform Manch, with students raising concerns over examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC).
The protesters have been holding an indefinite sit-in at Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium since July 29. They have alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations and opposed the state government’s decision to rely on a CID investigation. The protesters have instead sought probes by central agencies, including the CBI and Enforcement Directorate.
Among their key demands is the cancellation of the 14th JPSC Combined Preliminary Test, conducted on April 19, along with an independent investigation into alleged irregularities in JPSC and JSSC recruitment examinations.
