Naagin Has Been A TV Favourite Since 2015

The Naagin franchise began in 2015 with Mouni Roy playing the lead alongside Arjun Bijlani. The show became one of the biggest supernatural dramas on Indian television, mixing mythology, fantasy, romance and family drama.

Mouni returned for the second season, while Surbhi Jyoti took over as the lead in the third season. Nia Sharma headlined the fourth season, which ended early during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Surbhi Chandna then became the face of the fifth season, followed by Tejasswi Prakash in season six after her Bigg Boss 15 win. The seventh season premiered in 2025 and featured Priyanka Chahar Choudhary, Eisha Singh, Namik Paul and Kanika Mann among others.

Season seven concluded on June 14, 2026, and the franchise is now preparing to move into a completely new format.

Who Will Be The New Naagin?

The biggest mystery around the upcoming film is its casting. Ekta Kapoor has not announced the actress who will play the new Naagin, leaving fans to speculate about whether the makers will choose a major Bollywood star or bring a popular television actress into the film universe.

For now, the only confirmation is that Naagin is heading beyond television. More details about the film, including its cast and release plans, are expected to be announced later.
