Bangladesh scripted history on Sunday (August 16) by becoming only the third Asian team to win a Test match on Australian soil. The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side defeated Australia by nine wickets in the first Test of the ongoing two-match series at the Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin to take a 1-0 lead.

After securing a commanding 228-run first-innings lead, Bangladesh bowled Australia out for 284 in the second innings, leaving themselves with a modest target of 57 runs. Although they lost first-innings centurion Tanzid Hasan Tamim for a duck off five balls, the visitors comfortably completed the chase in just 12 overs, losing only two wickets.
