Fifth seeds Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty face a stern test in the men’s doubles quarterfinals when they take on third seeds Lian Wei Keng and Wang Cheng of China. The match is scheduled for around 6 pm on Court 1.

Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand have advanced to the World Championships quarterfinals as they continue their brilliant comeback. The unseeded Indian duo delivered a commanding performance on Thursday, beating Japanese seventh seeds Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi 21-16, 21-12.

Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand face their most difficult test of the tournament till now when they take on fourth seeds Jia Yi Fan and Zhang Shuxian of China in the women’s doubles quarterfinals. The match is scheduled for around 1:50 pm on Court 1.

India’s medal hopes at the BWF World Championships now hinge on the doubles events as the tournament enters Day 5 in New Delhi. The singles campaign ended on Thursday, with PV Sindhu and Ayush Shetty both exiting in the round of 16.
