Directed by Laxman Utekar, Eetha is based on the life of Vithabai Bhau Mang Narayangaonkar, one of the celebrated names in Marathi Tamasha and Lavani folk theatre.

The film’s teaser was released in June and gave audiences the first look at Shraddha as Vithabai. It also featured glimpses of her life as a performer, including a striking sequence in which she goes on stage soon after giving birth.

The teaser also drew attention to the film’s music, with Ajay-Atul composing the score. Vaibhavi Merchant has choreographed the dance sequences.

Which Film Clashes Are Still On?

With Eetha moving out of August 28, the date now has fewer major releases competing for audiences. The other confirmed clash mentioned in the original schedule is on September 11, when Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan’s Haiwaan will release alongside Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s Udta Teer.

Another clash is lined up for August 14, with Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2 and Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947 scheduled to release on the same day. The August 28 date will also see Khosla Ka Ghosla 2, starring Anupam Kher, Ravi Kishan and Ranvir Shorey, reach theatres. Vvan, meanwhile, is currently scheduled for September 25.

Earlier, Alia Bhatt’s Alpha and Huma Qureshi’s Baby Do Die Do had also released together. Both films featured female assassins at the centre of their stories. With Eetha now moving to December, Shraddha Kapoor’s next big-screen outing will have a new release window of its own, giving the film more room away from the August 28 competition.
