Ravi Kishan’s daughter Ishita Shukla has taken a path very different from the film industry her father is associated with. While Bollywood was an obvious career route given her family background, Ishita had shown an interest in the armed forces from an early age.

She came into the spotlight through her association with the National Cadet Corps (NCC), where she underwent military training and was involved in preparations for the Republic Day Parade. Several reports in 2023 stated that she had joined the defence forces as an Agniveer under the Agnipath scheme.

Before that, Ravi Kishan had frequently spoken about her NCC journey and her determination to serve the country. On Women’s Day 2025, Ravi Kishan spoke to Instant Bollywood about his daughter, proudly sharing, “My daughter is joining the Army. She is a sniper shooter — Ishita Shukla.”

Ishita was associated with the 7 Girls Battalion of the Delhi Directorate and had trained for the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path. Ravi Kishan had also shared pictures and updates from her training, highlighting the effort she was putting into her preparations.

Her journey received attention from several public figures as well. Actor Anupam Kher was among those who praised Ishita for choosing a path of service instead of following the more conventional route into Bollywood.

More recently, actor R Madhavan also shared a post about Ishita on his Instagram Story, bringing renewed attention to her journey.

Ravi Kishan and his wife Priti Shukla have four children — one son and three daughters. Apart from Ishita, their daughter Rivva Kishan has pursued acting and made her film debut with Sab Kushal Mangal in 2020. Rivva was also recently seen in Prime Video’s reality show ‘Alliance’.
