Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has taken an early lead in the Bankipur Assembly by-election, marking a significant moment in his political career as he contests his first-ever election. According to the latest counting trends, Kishor has secured more than 17,000 votes and is leading by over 5,000 votes after nine of the 31 rounds of counting. BJP’s Neeraj Sinha and RJD’s Rekha Kumari Gupta are trailing, although the final result could still change as counting continues.
