Star South African pacer Marco Jansen’s twin brother, Duan Jansen, earned his maiden international call-up for South Africa on Tuesday (August 11) for the upcoming white-ball tour of Namibia. South Africa will travel to Namibia later this month for a T20I tri-series involving the hosts and Zimbabwe. Like his twin brother Marco, Duan can also contribute with the bat and has scored half-centuries in both First-Class and List A cricket.

“The South African Men’s selection panel has today announced the 15-player squad for the white-ball tour to Namibia later this month. DP World Lions spinner Bjorn Fortuin will captain the side as the Proteas take on Namibia and Zimbabwe in a T20 International (T20I) Tri-series from 28 August – 06 September at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek,” Cricket South Africa (CSA) stated in a release.

“The squad will remain in the capital city for a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against the hosts from 09 – 13 September, which will be the first-ever 50-over series between the two nations.”

“Momentum Multiply Titans all-rounder Duan Jansen has earned his maiden national call-up after impressing domestically,” the release added.

The T20I tri-series is scheduled to be played from August 28 to September 6 at the Namibia Cricket Ground in Windhoek. The three ODIs between South Africa and Namibia are scheduled for September 9, 11 and 13 at the same venue.
