However, the deadline differs for fresh and renewal applicants.
Renewal students in Classes 10 and 12: Online applications can be submitted from August 11 to August 25, 2026. The required hard copy must also be submitted within the prescribed period.
Fresh applicants in Classes 9 and 11: Online applications will remain open from August 11 to September 21, 2026.
Students who have completed Class 12 and are pursuing graduation, post-graduation, diploma, ITI, or other post-matriculation courses will follow a separate application schedule.
What Happens After Students Apply Online?
Submitting the online application is only the first step. Scholarship applications go through multiple stages of scrutiny and verification.
First, the school or educational institution verifies the applications of eligible students and forwards them for further processing. The District School Inspector then verifies student-related information, including the number of eligible students.
After this, the technical team of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) examines the application data and identifies possible errors or discrepancies. Once the required verification stages are completed, the District Committee finalises the verified list.
The scholarship amount is subsequently transferred directly to the bank accounts of eligible students.
Renewal Students Likely To Receive Scholarship In October
The verification process for renewal students in Classes 9 to 12 is expected to be completed earlier than that for fresh applicants. According to the announced schedule, scholarship funds for eligible renewal students are expected to be transferred between October 25 and October 31, 2026.
For fresh applicants, the verification process is expected to take longer. Scholarship payments for eligible fresh students are expected to be transferred between January 25 and January 31, 2027.
Separate Schedule for Graduates
Students who have passed Class 12 and are pursuing graduation, post-graduation, diploma, ITI, or other eligible courses will apply under the Post-Matric Scholarship scheme.
The application schedule for these students is separate from the schedule for Classes 9 to 12.
For Post-Matric Scholarship renewal applicants, online registration and hard-copy submission will take place from September 15 to October 15, 2026.
For fresh applicants, online registration will remain open from September 15 to October 31, 2026.
The preparation of institutional master data is scheduled from July 22 to August 15, 2026. This will be followed by course-fee verification, which is scheduled to take place from July 23 to August 30, 2026, through the concerned university or affiliated agency.
According to the schedule, scholarship payments for post-matric renewal students are expected between January 16 and January 25, 2027.
For fresh post-matric applicants, scholarship payments are expected between January 27 and January 31, 2027.
Aadhaar-Linked Bank Account Mandatory
Since the scholarship amount is transferred directly to the student’s bank account, applicants should ensure that their bank account is in their own name and linked with Aadhaar, wherever required under the scheme.
Students should enter their bank account details carefully and verify them before submitting the application. Any error in bank details could create problems during the payment process.
