Fastest to 2000 runs in ODIs

While Gill needed 38 innings to reach 2,000 ODI runs, Amla scored his 2,000th ODI run in his 40th innings. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Zaheer Abbas and Babar Azam, England’s Kevin Pietersen, and South Africa’s Rassie van der Dussen reached the 2,000-run mark in their 45th ODI innings.

However, Abbas is the only player apart from Zadran to have scored his 2,000th ODI run in his 45th match.

If Zadran manages to score a century in the fourth ODI, he will move to No. 2 on the list of Afghanistan batters with the most ODI centuries. He is currently tied with Mohammad Shahzad, who also scored six ODI hundreds during his playing days.

The record for the most ODI centuries by an Afghanistan batter is held by Rahmanullah Gurbaz. Since making his ODI debut in 2021, Gurbaz has slammed nine centuries in 58 matches.
